Mount Longonot National Park has formed around Mount Longonot, a young, 2,776m high volcano in the Naivasha basin, with beautiful v-shaped valleys on the sides. Situated at an altitude of around 6,000-7,000 ft above sea level, the park covers an area of 52 square kilometers of lush forest. Visitors to this park will not find any accommodation within the park. However, the wide range of accommodation around Lake Naivasha nearby should more than make up for this. Visitors can participate in various activities like hiking, rock climbing, biking and observing birds and wildlife. Created during the volcanic eruptions that formed the Great Rift Valley, the park offers wonderful views of Lake Naivasha and the rift valley itself.
