About the Digital Literacy Curriculum
-------------------------------------
The eLearning is one part of a five-course Digital Literacy Curriculum which Microsoft makes freely available to non-profit government and non-profit non-government organizations tasked with providing fundamental computer skills.

The five Digital Literacy courses are:
* Computer Basics
* The Internet and the World Wide Web
* Productivity Programs
* Computer Security and Privacy
* Digital Lifestyles

Each of the five Digital Literacy courses includes both an eLearning module and a randomly generated 30-question assessment which students can use to track their learning progress. The curriculum also includes a certificate test that students can use to gauge their knowledge across all five courses. The assessments and certificate test are available exclusively online at the Digital Literacy Web site.

The full Digital Literacy Curriculum and program details are available at http://www.microsoft.com/digitalliteracy. Additional Instructor's materials and FAQs are available at http://www.microsoft.com/digitalliteracyinstructor.

Known Issues
------------
*Macromedia Flash Player installation failure
If the Flash Player is removed from a computer running Windows XP SP2 (or later) after one of the courses has been installed, the Flash Player must be installed again for the course to function correctly. To re-install the Flash Player, you must re-install or repair the installation of one of the courses on this CD. You may also go directly to the Macromedia Web site to install the Flash Player.

*If Internet Explorer is open when you install the course, then a Macromedia Flash 8 security warning message appears
To avoid this issue, ensure that Internet Explorer is closed before running the course for the first time.

*Elevated user privileges are required to install courseware
To support the installation of the Flash Player and/or the MSXML parser, both of which are required for use of the courseware, the user installing the courseware must be signed in as a user with elevated privileges (such as an administrator) on the computer.

*Trying to run the courseware from a mapped drive or from a UNC path
This courseware has been designed to function on a users local computer or from a Web server. The courseware will not function correctly if it is installed to a mapped drive or to a UNC path.

*Windows Server 2003 default Internet Explorer Security settings
Due to Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration settings on Windows Server 2003, courses may receive a security warning and may not function correctly. See the Managing Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration whitepaper at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=60553 for details about enabling access for users and administrators to the installed content.

Accessibility Information
-------------------------
The content in the Microsoft eLearning courses has been edited for accessibility, and whenever possible, enhanced to accommodate a variety of accessibility issues. For a list of keyboard shortcuts available in this product, open a course, click Help, and then click Viewer Help. In the Topics covered list, click Accessibility Features.

Using Features Provided by Your Web Browser
-------------------------------------------
Your Web browser has features that improve the readability of pages. For information about the accessibility features provided by your Web browser, look for information in the browser's Help for information about how to customize your browser to display the fonts and colors that you prefer. If your browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer, look for "Accessibility" in the Help Table of Contents.

Using System Accessibility Options
----------------------------------
If you are running Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 (SP4) (the minimum required operating system) or later, you can set or change system accessibility options. Many of these options affect the way you work in Microsoft programs. For example, the Sticky Keys feature in Windows 2000 or later is designed for people who have difficulty holding down two or more keys at a time. When a shortcut in a Microsoft program requires a key combination, such as CTRL+P, by using Sticky Keys, you can press one key at a time instead of pressing them simultaneously.

Blinking Images
---------------
At this time, the blink rate of flashing images cannot be altered by the user.
