Task 1: Case Study (15 minutes)

  1. Work with your Thinking Partner. Look at the following teacher's innovation and, with the assistance of the Teachers Qualities Checklist, identify the qualities of the teacher as an innovative person.

Task 2: Reflection (15 minutes)

  1. Begin developing a common understanding of "innovation" by thinking about the questions below and discussing them with your Thinking Partner:
    • What do we mean by innovation in the context of classroom teaching?
    • What did you do that was innovative during the cell phone challenge?
    • How do you define innovative teaching?
    • Does innovative teaching require technology?
