One day, Dayang Sumbi asked Sangkuriang to hunt in the forest and get her a deer's liver. After long enough hunting, Sangkuriang couldn't get it. So Sangkuriang decided to kill Tumang which he didn't know that Tumang was his father. Innocently, he took Tumang's liver and gave it to his mother. His mother cooked and ate it. Afterward, because Sangkuriang felt guilty, he told the truth to his mother that the liver she had eaten was actually Tumang's liver. Knowing the fact, Dayang Sumbi was so furious and hit Sangkuriang on the head until he fell down and lost his memory.
