Module 3 - Curriculum-Framing Questions to Support Thinking Skills

Activity 3.7

Supporting Thinking

Similar to how the Seeing Reason Tool would be used in the classroom, we are now returning to the Seeing Reason workspace to clarify and document new insights and knowledge. Considering your work with Curriculum-Framing Questions, think about any additional factors you might want to add to your map from the perspective of a learner. How would your learners answer the question, What makes you really think? Use the Help Guide for ICT assistance, if necessary.

Step 1: Updating Your Map

  1. With your partner, open Seeing Reason from your Favorites. (www.intel.com/education/seeingreason)

  2. Log in to the Student Workspace. Add more factors to your map from the perspective of a learner in your classroom.

  3. Assign a different colour to these factors than the colour used in Modules 1 and 2

  4. Add the causal relationships between the factors.

  5. When you are done adding your factors and relationships, click the Portfolio portfolio button to save the current version into your portfolio.

Step 2: Reflecting on Curriculum-Framing Questions to Support Thinking Skills

Discuss as a whole group your thoughts about using Curriculum-Framing Questions in your classroom and how it might impact learning and higher-order thinking skills.
