Keith NuthallWELCOME
Conflict Yellowstone Wolves is an inquiry oriented activity that places students in the position to ask great questions, develop new relationships, and take a stand on a current hot issue.  This Web-based activity is part of a larger project: Planet Earth.

If you are currently using the project with your students, or studying the WebQuest concept, I would enjoy hearing from you.  Please take a second and sign the guest book

PROJECT TOOLS

Grading Rubric: A rubric has been developed to help "set the target" for the student editorials.

Pre-Write: This activity helps students balance perspectives, scaffold their learning, and write an effective editorial.

Teacher Note: The classroom teacher should be prepared to help their students properly evaluate the replies.

TIMELINE

"Things take longer than they do."  That seems to be the motto when doing student-centered activities.   Below you will find a possible 7-day timeline.  If you decide dedicate your entire class time to the project, you should be able to finish Conflict Yellowstone Wolves in 7-days.  Many teachers have decided to run the project concurrently with their already established classroom curriculum.  This may extend the timeline.

DAY ONE - TWO: Investigate Wolf Behavior

DAY Three - FOUR: Research the Yellowstone Wolf Reintroduction Program

DAY FIVE: Define and analyze the current problem from different perspectives

Day SIX - Seven: Develop a solution, Pre-Write, Email
