Peer Coaching
Getting Started - Coaching Plan
Who will you coach? How will coaching align with your school's academic goals? What kinds of support will your school or district provide?
Coaching is rewarding but difficult work. Without adequate support from your school and school district it is more difficult and perhaps impossible.
In this activity, you will start to define the following:
- What coaching might look like in your school.
- How coaching aligns with your school's educational goals.
- How your school can support your efforts.
Part A: Engage in a Planning Simulation
You will work with a team on a Coaching Plan Simulation to help you think about issues you will need to address to make your coaching programme successful.
- Divide into teams of 5-6 people. Coaches and their principal should be on the same team.
- Independently, read the Introduction, About the School, and Task sections of the simulation, which is found on the next page.
- As a team, review the Process and complete the simulation.
