Have you tried this free tool, Talktyper? Free speech to text dictation software in a browser

I have only recently come across this free, webtool called Talktyper https://www.talktyper.com/. Admittedly one can now use Google Docs and the Chrome browser for dictation that types up your words, but what I like about Talktyper is that it works in any browser.

What is Talktyper?

It is a free speech to text dictation software that works in any browser.

How does it work?

All you have to do is open your browser and type in www.talktyper.com. When it opens click on the on-screen microphone to give it permission to use your mike, and off you go!

As you begin speaking one sentence at a time, you’ll notice that your words appear in the top window where you can edit them.

You then use the green/blue download button to move the words down to the the lower window which will have your corrected words in it. . In other words, TalkTyper provides the ability for you to edit what is recorded before printing, emailing, or copying and pasting the completed text into another document.

Benefits to students

Your students will be able to focus less on their keyboarding ability and more on their ideas. Another very big plus for TalkTyper is that no registration or email account is required. Your students can just start using it. Clear instructions are provided.

Why not try it!
