From the online applications that were received and the more than 50 learning activities that were uploaded to the Microsoft Educator Network, sixteen teachers from South Africa and Lesotho were selected to be Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts (MIEs) for 2015. These teachers join a group of 800 educators from more than 100 countries around the world who will enjoy a year long experience with Microsoft as they learn more about creating an environment of innovation in education using technology. Of the sixteen MIEs who have been selected from South Africa and Lesotho, a further selection will take place in January 2015 to determine who will represent these two countries in at the Microsoft in Education Forum in Dubai in February 2015, and who will get to attend the Global Microsoft in Education Forum taking place in Redmond, Washington in April 2015.
