LL9's visit to Lao PDR
We left for Watty, Vientiane , Lao Democratic Republic at 21:10 by TG 687 and arrived Bangkok International airport at 22:35 and continued our trip to Wattay, Vientiane , Lao Democratic Republic another day at 8:15 by TG 690 and arrived there at 9:25. We took a tuk-tuk and went to a hotel. We stayed at Green Park Boutique Hotel.
There are many old temples in Laos . That Laung stupa is the symbol of Laos and Patuxia monument (victories gate) in the capital.
We first travel in and around Vientiane .
Vientiane is the hub for all travel in the country. Vientiane is a city full of surprises.
Here you can find fields of rice and vegetables, agriculture hidden behind tree lined avenues. French Colonial architecture sits next to gilded temples. Freshly baked French bread is served next to shops selling noodle soup.
We went to Vung Vieng It is surrounded by hills. We went there by bus. It took about 2 hours to go there. Then we continued our trip to Luang Prapang, the world heritage city. When we were in the city, we saw, at dawn, hundreds of saffaron–robed monks leave the temples to go on their daily alms round. One member form every household stands(men) or kneels(women) in front of their house ready to place rice in the bowls of the monks and novices as they amble past, etc. We also visited Pakse province, which has the world heritage temple, and the biggest waterfall in south-east Asia . We had a wonderful time in Laos . We stayed in Laos for about ten days. We then left for Cambodia.
