LL9's visit to Singapore
We waited for another flight to go Changi Airport , Singapore . The flight departed from Bangkok International Airport at 11:00 am and arrived at Changi Airport , Singapore at 2:20 pm. We stayed at Grand Mercure Roxy hotel near the airport. We had a short rest and then were ready to go sight-seeiing . We went to Holland Village which is
a popular place for Singaporeans throughout the day. Holland Village is bursting with nightlife. There are countless pubs and cafes like Coffee Bean, Starbucks and Coffee Club. Shops and restaurants are in air conditioned terraced houses facing the road.
When we had finished our dinner, we went to Funan Centre. Funan Centre is the IT (information technology) mall of Singapore.
We were lucky to reach this shop. We got much knowledge about computer. We went back to our hotel at 9:00 pm. The next day, we went to Chinese and Japanese Garden . It was an amazing garden. Although situated side by side, the two gardens are very much different. The Chinese Garden , also known as 'Yu Hwa Yuan', reflects the classical Chinese royal garden during the Sung Dynasty (AD 960- 1279). Inside the Chinese Garden itself, we found 'theme gardens' such as the Herb Garden , the Ixora Garden and the Bonsai Garden .
The most we like was the bonsai trees. We bought one bonsai tree for our school garden. We didn't forget to snap a picture of the 'Statue of Confucious', the famous Chinese philosopher. The other exotic garden is 'Seiwaen', or better known as the Japanese
Garden.
We went back to hotel early. The next day we went to Chinatown , we had our breakfast with Chinese food. Leaving Chinatown we proceeded a short distance along the edge of Marina Bay to Merlion Park . On our way we again enjoyed the marvels of Singapore 's cityscape. Once a favorite means of transportation in Singapore this rickshaw was permanently anchored in Merlion Park for tourists to enjoy. Having taken several pictures in the park we noticed the rickshaw and we took photos with rickshaw. We hadn't had it in Yangon . So we took photos for remembrance.
During the evening the statue is floodlit and water pours from the statue's mouth. Luckily we got to see it at night.
