Newcomers’ Module – this module is designed for complete beginners and builds on skills used in the face-to-face introductory course. It provides further basic skills that are going to be needed in the study of future modules.
Administrative and Classroom Use (non-accredited)
Word Processing for Educators – this module will teach you to use a word processor effectively in your teaching. It also helps you to identify contexts in your work in which a word processor might be a useful tool.
Spreadsheets for Educators – this module will teach you to use the spreadsheet as a tool in your teaching and personal life. It helps you identify contexts in which a spreadsheet will enhance teaching and learning.
Administrative and Classroom Use (accredited)
ICT and roles of the educator – in this module you will be reflecting on how ICT can support you in your seven roles as an educator. You will produce a range of documents that can support your work in these areas.
Use of the Internet (non-accredited)
Finding Information – this module concentrates on skills you will need to use search engines on the Internet, so that you can begin to derive benefit from the huge store of resources available on the World Wide Web. It will also help you to identify and use criteria for evaluating the reliability and value of information that you find on the Internet.
Using Web Resources – this module will introduce you to a range of resources available on the World Wide Web. It will encourage you to use these resources both in lesson planning and with learners in the classroom.
Use of the Internet (accredited)
Designing Web Pages (accredited) – this module will introduce you to the principles of good web page design, as well as guiding you through the process of creating and using your own web page.
Teaching and Learning Strategies (non-accredited)
Questioning and Thinking Skills – this module will help you develop skills in asking questions to make learners think more effectively. It will also show you how to create opportunities in class for learners to ask questions. Creating an atmosphere of inquiry like this will make learners and educators in your school realize how valuable the Internet and its information sources can be.
Teaching and Learning Strategies (accredited)
Assessing ICT integration – in this module you will gain an understanding of the role of assessment in outcomes-bases education (OBE). You will focus specifically on assessing activities that include the integration of ICT.
Learning with Projects – this module examine the practicalities of project-based learning, planning and implementing collaborative projects, in a practical way.
Working with Information – providing the educator with suggested templates for designing units of work that involve the range of information skills, particularly research, synthesis and presentation of information.
Subject-specific modules
ICT Maths resources for teachers – The purpose of the module is to provide you with approaches and techniques for using computer-based ICT’s to support your Maths classroom practice and to share and reflect on these experiences in a community of Maths educators.
Developing classroom resources for Maths – The purpose of this module is to build on the lessons of ICT Maths resources for teachers to equip you with all of the skills you will need to use ICTs to build effective Maths resources for use with your learners in the classroom.
ICT Science resources for teachers – The purpose of the module is to provide you with approaches and techniques for using computer-based ICT’s to support your Science classroom practice and to share and reflect on these experiences in a community of science educators.
Developing classroom resources for Science – The purpose of this module is to build on the lessons of ICT Science resources for teachers to equip you with all of the skills you will need to use ICTs to build effective Science resources for use with your learners in the classroom.

Leadership for educators – this module is intended to help you take a leadership role in driving the incorporation of ICTs into your school. It is recommended that you take this module in combination with Planning for Educators.
Choosing and evaluating educational software – this module is designed to help you in making more effective choices regarding the software you download and/or purchase for use in your classroom.
