The University of KwaZulu-Natal has cooperated with SchoolNet SA to establish the Advanced Certificate in Education (ICT Integration).
Accreditation is based on the assessment strategy associated with SchoolNet’s teacher competencies for ICT integration.
Fourteen of the 20 modules are accredited at NQF level 5 or 6. Educators can register for the ACE (ICT Integration) qualification.
Alternatively, educators can register for 1 or more modules for non-degree purposes. All modules completed in this way will carry accredition which will be valid for 4 years towards the completion of an ACE at UKZN.
The Commonwealth of Learning have adopted the EDN and funded some upgrade modifications. The same materials are being used in The Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago and are known as the Commonwealth Certificate for Teacher ICT Integration (CCTI). Certification by the University of the West Indies is imminent.
