Planning Your Project

Step 1: Creating a Seeing Reason Project from an Existing Project

If you saw a project online that you would like to use as a starting point, you can use the project wizard to copy the project description and research question to your Teacher Workspace. If you want to create a new project based on your own ideas, skip this step and go directly to Step 2.

Copying an Existing Project to Your Workspace

  1. Open Seeing Reason from your Favorites. (www.intel.com/education/seeingreason)

  2. Click Enter, and then on the page that opens, click Project Examples.

  3. Open the appropriate project in either Unit Plans or Project Ideas.

  4. Above the sample tool workspace, next to the project name, click anywhere in the following sentence: Click here to set up this project in your workspace.

  5. If you are not already logged in, you will be directed to a page that requests you to you log in. Click the Log in link.

  6. On the Intel Login page, enter your Login ID and Password and click Login.

  1. The Teacher Workspace: Your Projects page will open. A separate window will open as well indicating that the project has been set up. Click OK.


Review Your project Ideas and Edit the Project Information Online

  1. Open your Project Plan.

  2. Review your Curriculum-Framing Questions. Consider how your learners’ work with Seeing Reason could help to support your Focus question.

  3. Review your Project Priorities.

  4. Preview the project Reflection Checklist.

Note: You may also want to review the Project Rubric

  1. In the Teacher Workspace: Your Projects page, click the name of the project in the Seeing Reason Projects section to review and edit the title, description, and/or question as needed.

  2. After editing the project information online, copy the details into your Project Plan.

Note: If you do not believe Seeing Reason will be a good fit for your project, try a project idea from another Unit.

 

  1. Save your Project Plan.

  2. Return to your Teacher Workspace. If you have made any changes to your project online, click Submit.

  3. Review Steps 2 – 4 to familiarize yourself with the project-creation options, and then go on to Step 5 set up teams.
