Activity 8.1

Step 3: Saving a Map Image

You can insert a map image into other files, such as Microsoft Word* documents (for your Project Plan Template), presentations, or publications. 

Note: Directions may vary depending on your Internet browser and operating system. 

 

Saving the Map Image 

  1. In either the Student or Teacher Workspace, open an active view of a map.

  2. Click the Print button above the map.

  3. The map will open in a separate window. Right-click the map image and choose Save Picture As.

  4. Open an appropriate location in which to save the image and type a file name.

  5. Click Save. This image can now be inserted into any document or presentation.  


Copying the Map Image

  1. In either the Student or Teacher Workspace, open an active view of a ma.

  2. Click the Print button above the map. 

  3. The map will open in a separate window. Right-click the map image and choose Copy

  4. Immediately open the file in which you want to paste the map image (such as in your Project Plan Template). 

  5. Click where you want the image to appear. 

  6. On the Edit menu, select Paste (or press Ctrl-V).
