The Outcomes Approach - Self Assessment



Assess yourself and the progress that you have made by referring to the following assessment rubric.
You need to think seriously if You may need to rethink some plans if You are going to be a winner if
Your understanding of the approach to learning with OBE You do not see the difference between the outcomes approach and the traditional approach You can see that there is a difference in approach but you are not convinced of the value of OBE You understand that lessons catering for OBE require active learner participation and interaction, with the teacher acting as facilitator
Using Outcomes You do not see the need for outcomes and/or are unable to see the difference between outcomes and objectives You are still struggling to write outcomes properly, but are keen to learn You are able to write outcomes in terms of what the learners should be able to do.
Assessment with OBE You prefer to continue with traditional assessments that test the recall of content You do not always see the connection between your teaching style and the new approach to assessment You understand the value of continuous assessment and intend using this technique in a number of ways in class
