Have you ever wondered how to easily share free apps with others in a way that the apps won’t take up a lot of space on a tablet? This post highlights a great way to share your free apps without having to download them again. All you do is install them from the SD card on to your Android device using a special downloader called APK downloader (http://apk-dl.com/), and then share the SD card with someone else. When the app is to be used it is installed from the SD card.
Step 1: Use your PC for thi...
This is a post that I came across on TeachThought last night called ‘The Must-Have Educational Apps List For Android’ by Terry Heick. There was an option to embed the list on one’s own blog so I thought I would give this a try especially as there are so many teachers in South Africa that use Android Apps in the classroom.

Book Creator has to be one of my favourite iPad apps. So when it was released as an ANDROID app as well I was absolutely thrilled! This is an app that is a must in every mobile device classroom. It allows creativity and collaboration. You can use text, video, photos, camera, sound, video camera and imported video. I have been researching some of the ways Book Creator can be used in the classroom and in this post I will outline them.

There was so much excitement on Twitter yesterday! Why? One of my favourite writing apps on the iPad is BookCreator and there were many tweets yesterday announcing that this app is now available for Android! The Book Creator blog made this exciting statement yesterday about the product, ‘With over 4 million books made on the iPad with Book Creator, we’re very excited that from today anyone with an Android tablet can create, share and publish their own beautiful ebooks.â€...
One of my favourite applications on my laptop is ‘Pocket’. With Pocket you can save articles, videos or pretty much anything into your ‘Pocket’ for reading later whether offline or online. You can save directly from your browser or from apps like Twitter, Flipboard, Pulse and Zite (it is integrated with 500+ apps). So, when I saw the app is available as an Android (and an iOS) app I thought this deserved a mention (and a download of course!)

Unfortunately my Android tablet isn’t compatible with Class Dojo. Pity because this is a fantastic application for an elementary school teacher to use on his/her tablet. However I can still use the website version on my Android tablet.
What is Class Dojo?
Class Dojo is a free online tool which allows the class teacher to manage and record behaviour and provide instant feedback to the class. It encourages learners to take responsibility for their own behaviour, and puts the focus on positive inste...
One thing about owning a tablet is that the hard-drive is very small and not able to hold much. Also, if you have a class that is using Android tablets, you will need to be able to access their work. Saving to online storage or to the ‘cloud’ as it is called is the best option. Cloud storage was once a confusing technology but it is slowly becoming the norm. Basically, cloud storage is a term used to describe services that back up your files to a remote server owned by the cloud storage provide...
When you have a tablet such as an Android or an iPad, you can always access blogging platforms via the browser, but an app specially designed for the device works much better when it comes to speed, offline use, layout, functionality and focus. There’s so much that students can do with a blog that it is really well-worth downloading the preferred app on to your device.
